A perfect example of this collaboration was Deepka & Doug’s summer wedding at Kew Gardens, a beautifully curated multi-event South Asian celebration. With a design vision that embraced a whimsical, romantic, and elegant aesthetic, we worked closely with Bergdorf’s Floral Designs to create a bespoke and immersive setting that perfectly blended their South Asian background and traditions with a modern, Scandinavian-inspired floral style.
Bespoke Exquisite Floral Designs
For Deepka & Doug’s wedding, the goal was to create a floral experience that not only showcased their personalities but blended beautifully with the stunning surroundings of Kew Gardens. The floral arrangements were carefully curated to complement the overall wedding colour scheme and the fresh summer vibe the couple wanted in their wedding aesthetic.
The Hindu Ceremony At Nash Conservatory
The wedding began with a Hindu ceremony held at the historic Nash Conservatory, a venue surrounded by stunning natural light and an abundance of botanicals. The Bergdorf Floral Team created a romantic and intimate atmosphere by adorning the Mandap with lush greenery, fresh blooms and complimented them with realistic silk flowers to ensure a statement and colourful design that made a visual impact.
The florals selected for the Mandap were chosen to create a soft, natural, and elegant ambience. Cascading lush greens and delicate foliage were woven into the Mandap structure to create a romantic and organic feel. Soft apricot and pale peach roses added a subtle warmth to the arrangement, complementing Deepka & Doug’s wedding colour palette. Jasmine and seasonal wildflowers were included to add a beautiful fragrance to the space while ferns and baby’s breath added a whimsical, airy effect to the overall design. The balance of colour, texture, and structure ensured that the Mandap became the breathtaking focal point of the ceremony.
Wedding Breakfast At The Orangery
Following the ceremony, guests were welcomed into the iconic Orangery at Kew Gardens for an opulent wedding breakfast. With its glass walls and iconic architecture, the Orangery provided the perfect setting for a design-led reception that was truly one-of-a-kind. To create a dynamic and visually captivating setting, we incorporated a range of floral installations that enhanced both the height and depth of the space.
The top table was adorned with a luxurious floral garland, cascading beautifully across the front of the table to create a soft and elegant visual statement. This floral arrangement added a natural, unstructured feel while maintaining a polished and sophisticated look. To add height to the reception space, tall glass trumpet vases were used as centrepieces, with whimsical floral arrangements that gave the appearance of floating effortlessly above the tables. This created a sense of height, ensuring the room felt airy and spacious while drawing attention to the intricate floral details.
For the remaining tables, we introduced a combination of candlelight and floral clusters, strategically placed to create an intimate and inviting atmosphere. The mix of cylinder candles in varying heights and delicate floral arrangements added a warm glow to the reception, enhancing the romantic ambience of the evening. The chosen floral colour palette was a stunning blend of pastel shades, including lilacs, blush pinks, and soft purples, with the occasional bold pop of deep burgundy to create contrast and visual interest.
One of the key elements of the floral design was the seamless transition of florals from ceremony to reception. Many of the arrangements were carefully repurposed throughout the evening to maintain a sustainable approach while maximizing the floral impact.
